Elevation Certificates are no longer required for rating NFIP policies. With the implementation of Risk Rating 2.0 effective 10/01/2021, Elevation Certificates are now optional. The NFIP application has been updated with a revised certificate section where limited elevation information can be entered if available. Elevation Certificate data will be used by FEMA to determine any applicable rating discounts for the building. If a rating discount is provided, prior photograph requirements will apply.
